Is there a way to be able to "monitor" data much the same as we now can monitor any talkgroup on a timeslot?
I'm looking for a way to "see" all the text (SMS) traffic moving through a timeslot. This would enable a dispatcher to monitor their field units chatter between each other.
Currently to and from the TransTRBO dispatch software is supported nicely but I'm looking to broaden out to all units.
I tried to use MtNetTester also to "watch" the data stream but again, seems only data that is to or from the software, is viewable.
Thanks...Mike, Mazama WA USA, http://www.pnwdigital.net

Re: Promiscous Data Mode
Hi Mike,
I'm guessing that the receiver radio acts like a Data Router - so all digital messages are received/decoded but not sent on to the Peripheral Device (i.e. trantrbo) unless its IP matches that in the Text Packet's destination.
This should not be true for a "Repeater".
I have a /V\ Repeater development license - but have done any development - as I lack facilities to test the software ...
Any offers?
cheers
Will
